Happiness in one's Soul

I must tell you of a time I see in the future where everyone has a little slice of happiness in their soul, safe in the knowledge that all their travel needs are taken care of with the implications that are tied to a marvellous experiment I like to call timetables. Bus drivers and the people in charge of them have not grasped the concept just yet!!!!! I know this because for the second time in a year I have been stood at a lovely bus stop waiting for a bus. Then I waited a little more, and then I even had to wait a little longer. An hour and a half I had to stand and then I gave up!! Missed lectures and meeting with tutors for dissertations and all sorts. If I can be bothered I shall complain to the bus company with the most annoying letter/e-mail. E-mails shall be sent daily if it happens again. You've been warned!

Glad I've got that off my chest - now I can sleep! Yes it's morning I know, but it's going to be a late night! Let's pub!

Back after a weekend of partying - 9 hours sleep in 2 days and 2 nights. Too much to say but it was all good fun. Will write something decent about it all later but I'm back!

Palace Upgrade!

The Palace you all know and love now has a swimming pool - jump in and try it - it's warm and ...wet!

A Way of enertaining students and children alike

Party on Saturday - Fancy dress - maybe even the best fancy dress idea I've ever heard - and I've heard a lot...but I'm not going to say just yet. A few Clues:

1) He's dead
2) He's got a daughter
3) He's got his own Museum
4) He is similar to Spike Milligan in a way

.....The idea is.....

....Bum Bum Bum...

...a....

...Roald Dahl theme fancy dress.

'The possibilities are endless' (Micah P. Hinson comment when told about the idea on a stag weekend in Florence). All those characters to choose from peaches, tortoises, large chickens, twits, chocolate, pheasants and glue. This will be interesting!

It's started - I'm taking over your mind!

Well The songs have been up for a few days and I thought I'd update you all on the progress/lack of progress in the charts.

Diary's End is a fucking gem of a song - to be honest recorded very roughly - guitar sounds shit and yet... it has reached #199 of 15,644 songs in the sub-genre. Fantastic - better than I would have expected for a few days. In the normal alt category it's managed #675 of 65,432. What more could I have hoped for.

Let's just hope the others will be just as popular eh?

uni and a 1000 people!

Finally back at uni - more books to read and more time not used for sleeping - last year and it's going to be tough. Please don't make me do it! It'll be worth it in the end, just as finishing the last of a pint means you can get another fresh one - there's a moral here somewhere but I'm struggling to vocalise it. Anyway it has got to be done and that's all there is to it.

I need 4 more hits and then I'll have 1000 people looking at this thing of mine. There might be something special in it for you if you're the 1000th person.

Danger! Toilet humour!

A conversation we had yesterday had the following result. The fact that you have to spend more than a penny in order to use the public loos. We were talking about how frustrating it is when you're out and about and nature calls and facilities are sparse or you have no change. The idea of 'Day tickets' for the elderly came up - as they will need to use the loo more often than most in a usual day. You could sell them out of vending machines/ have application through the council. As this is not a reality - What do you, the average person, do in a situation such as this.

We have invented a company, we feel that the general public would be extremely thankful for in those desperate situations. A telephone service that brings a toilet to you.

The 5th Emergency service:

Quick Relief
Public Health in Our Hands

Call/Text 1212
When you want to, want to - the loo to you!!

State Premium or Standard
Premium includes : Scented Paper and hot water, optional Bidet

The conversation went further than this and got a bit silly, a tracking system could be introduced with the membership card with sensors and satelites whereby the company calls you ten minutes before a crisis and warns you to start thinking about ordering a Quick Relief toilet. On the membership card the slogan reads 'I'm Watching Loo'

Midget fighting Leagues and Lions

This came to my attention via the BBC website a while ago. These are bizzare times we live in!

Lion Mutilates 42 Midgets in Cambodian Ring-Fight

An African Lion is responsible for the death of 28 Cambodian Midgets.

Spectators cheered as entire Cambodian Midget Fighting League squared off against African Lion

Tickets had been sold-out three weeks before the much anticipated fight, which took place in the city of Kâmpóng Chhnãng.

The fight was slated when an angry fan contested Yang Sihamoni, President of the CMFL, claiming that one lion could defeat his entire league of 42 fighters.

Sihamoni takes great pride in the league he helped create, as was conveyed in his recent advertising campaign for the CMFL that stated his midgets will "... take on anything; man, beast, or machine."

This campaign is believed to be what sparked the undisclosed fan to challenge the entire league to fight a lion; a challenge that Sihamoni readily accepted.

An African Lion (Panthera Leo) was shipped to centrally located Kâmpóng Chhnãng especially for the event, which took place last Saturday, April 30, 2005 in the city’s coliseum.

The Cambodian Government allowed the fight to take place, under the condition that they receive a 50% commission on each ticket sold, and that no cameras would be allowed in the arena.

The fight was called in only 12 minutes, after which 28 fighters were declared dead, while the other 14 suffered severe injuries including broken bones and lost limbs, rendering them unable to fight back.

Sihamoni was quoted before the fight stating that he felt since his fighters out-numbered the lion 42 to 1, that they "… could out-wit and out-muscle [it]."

This shows a classic case for not making pub bets, a night out could cost lives. The highlighted bits really made me laugh - just keep reminding yourself this actually happened!!! Enjoy!

Speeling speelling spelling!!!

Bloody spelling! What's wrong with the younger generations, and I'm only thinking 1/2 years younger than me, but they all write their blogs and schoolwork in this shitty fucking text thing! It positively pisses me off!!! Spelling words like

again = agen
should = shud
Cool = kewl (It's still four fucking letters for fuck sake!!!)
Right = rite
might - mite

Then theres the words which are unreadible:

buddeh - apparently means "buddy"
wt eva - apparently means "whatever"
luff - confused again as it's still four letters long - just spell it properly LOVE

Me luff a gd rnt!!

29 August

Beer, Poker and good company!

I think the title explains everything, it's now 3:54 in the morning of 29th August and everyone has just left from a a bloody good game of poker and  a few beers. The significant other is off to a conference until Thursday so I've got the pad to myself and the lads for a few days. Sweet! I have a strange feeling a lot of fun is to be had and all.

Poker is definately the new Sunday Club. This was a gathering of fine intellectuals for a few beers and a bit of cards - namely a Japanese game called Di Hu Go. It means Rich and Poor. It's similar to poker in that it's a bit of a capitalist game, as the name suggests. This has progressed to a fine arrangement whereby on Thursdays (usually) we will all get together for a friendly game of Texas Hold 'em Poker. No real money is exchanged because we're all mates and it'd only cuase problems, so it's all for laugh and a joke. I'm going to inforce a new law on poker nights that everyone must wear a funky hat of some description - beit cowboy, joker, clown or beanie - an attempt must be made. If a hat is too hard to come by then dark classes shall be expected! Both would ensure that you gain an advantage by commencing with more chips, incentive enough for any participant if I do say so myself.

On another note, people are moving out soon and I think a fancy dress party will be organised for the new housemates who will be enticed to come because they won't have any friends and we'll live with them, anyone whose boring and doesn't feel glee at the idea shall be shunned for the rest of the year. We shall see how this idea develops - if they're all a bunch of boring bastards then obviously stuff them!!

Anyways got to get a bit of the ol' shut eye before sorting out the better half at about 8:00.

Will try to update over the next few days but no promises. Peace out.

Gonzo!

There's not much to say, but i think this picture says it all. He'll be missed! At least he lighted up our lives for the last time! ;)

Sparks and Stars

A darkness covered the land except for a stream,
Edged with a star almost shining. A snow spring,
Deep in a cold canyon. A magic circle,
encompassed a fire burnt out and dull.
The wind was a thin whisper, it's alright,
Encouraging the strings to burn at the speed of light.
the darkness spread like dust on Mars.
The wind gave birth, mixing Sparks and Stars.

Now you've got to let me know,
I'm not alone

The sun arose me from my slumber.
I gazed out to my clock, but saw no number.
Wake up in the morning, see your face it's alright.
It's going to be a good day, it's alright.
I can feel the sun arising over me,
Not a cloud covers me, I feel groovy.

Now I've got to let you know,
You're not alone.

Sparks and Stars.

Last week...

Last week, Japanese scientists explaced... placed explosive detonators at the bottom of Lake Loch Ness to blow Nessie out of the water. Sir Godfrey of the Nessie Alliance summoned the help of Scotland's local wizards to cast a protective spell over the lake and its local residents and all those who seek for the peaceful existence of our underwater ally.
